Unsolved Case: Natalie Wood pt. 5




In 2012, the LA County Coroner’s Office changes the cause of death from “accidental drowning” to “drowning and other undetermined factors” The new reports casts more questions on the nature of the bruises and abrasions on Wood’s body, positing that they likely had to have been on her body before she fell into the water. Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran, the chief medical examiner said in the report “the location of the bruises and the multiplicity of the bruises, lack of head trauma, or facial bruising support bruising having occurred prior to entry in the water. Since there are unanswered questions and limited additional evidence available for evaluation, it is opined by this medical examiner that the manner of death should be left as undetermined. As of 2013, the LA County Sheriff Department’s spokesman, Steve Whitmore, has described the case as “open and ongoing. Nothing definitive has closed it.” However, he had also previously stated that Wagner is not a suspect. Natalie’s sister said “I can’t imagine that he (Wagner) would purposely would have done anything to hurt Natalie. However, I know things happen when there is too much drinking and fighting.” Whether or not he was responsible, Wagner claims to feel responsible in part for her death because he did not notice she was gone sooner. Christopher Walken has spoken on the incident as a whole officially saying “The people who are convinced that there was something more to it than what came out in the investigation will never be satisfied with the truth. Because the truth is, there is nothing more to it. It was an accident.”

Jack the Ripper’s reign of terror made people wonder if anybody caught a glimpse of this monster, and it would seem that people did. When aggregating eyewitness testimonies of those who believed they saw the Ripper, a rough outline of the killer can be visualized. The Bordens L izzie Andrew Borden was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on the 19 th of July 1860. The Borden family was composed of four people: Andrew Borden, head of the household, his second wife Abby Durfee Gray and Andrew’s two daughters, Emma and Lizzie, who were born from his first marriage. The vampire of Düsseldorf

Peter Kürten, was born on May 26, 1883 in a very poor and abusive family in Mülheim am Rhein, Germany. Third out of thirteen children, soon the eldest after the death of his first two siblings at an early age, he had parents that were both alcoholics. Peter's father inflicted torture and violence on the family members, especially when he was drunk. He would force his children to watch as he was having a sexual intercourse with their mother. He eventually got jailed for fifteen months in 1894 for raping his eldest daughter, who was 13 years old at the time. Peter's mother obtained a separation order, moved to Düsseldorf and remarried. There is no doubt that Peter's disturbing childhood had an important influence on him, who at the age of 9 was taught bestiality, how to torture and kill the animals he caught by a dog-catcher that lived in the same building as him.
